The Myths and Legends Magical Mystery Tour 2010 was an adventure like no other! The Gods themselves came to witness this event, in the form of 2nd Baulkham hills Rovers who won First Place and Best Dressed by getting toga-ether in their Toga’s! The Legendary Berowra Bogans came Second Place, and Third Place went to the Mythical Razorlake Rovers.
A very muddy weekend was enjoyed by all who attended the now annual Not a Moot weekend away at Strike a Light Campsite in the Myall River State Forest, just past Bulahdelah on July 31/August 1. Normanhurst would like the thank Crews from Turramurra, Kissing Point, Epping, Berowra (they heard it was free), Brush Park and Mt Colah for a fun and safe weekend.
Congratulation to Gordon Rovers for wining the Highly Prized Kalang Kup! It was a tight competition held under blue winter skies on Sunday June 20th, but in the end the newest Crew in the Region proved victorious!
2009 was a great year for normo rovers, spurred on by young blood and new leadership, we were more active and involved, both as a crew and within the region. Resulting in extra fun for all, so here is just a few of the highlights of 2009 for your browsing pleasure.
It began as usual with a Maccas invasion. Rovers from across the state armed themselves with McMuffins and Hash Browns and descended on the car park to begin the whimsical journey known as Magical Mystery Tour.
Another amazing weekend, full of motor biking, 4 wheel driving on the beach and general frivolities. The first (and hopefully) annual Hornsby District Rover Camp was deemed a great success by all who attended. Generously hosted by Binskin (Mt Cola) and his family on their property located near Taree. Much fun was had in the mud, on the sand, on the water and around the camp fire. The highlight (for me at least) being Saturday afternoon’s oyster punt ride to the pub, no one has ever arrived in more style!
An amazing weekend full of frost bitten fun was had deep within Newnes state forest by a troop of normo rovers, along with many comrades the Sydney north region. Normo’s delegation included hooders, kat, gareth (aka “chad reed”), susie, liz, alice, carny and nicky.
